How The New Google Is Going To Change The Internet Forever

Back in the wild west days of the Internet anyone who even knew a little bit about search engine optimisation (SEO) could game the google algorithm and get page 1 rankings.

All that was needed was a few spammy links and overstuffing of keywords on the page.

Well… those days are long gone!

The Internet has changed and with it Googles’ algorithm.

But what does this mean for business owners, entrepreneurs and marketers wanting to rank for their desired keywords?

Do the old skool link building techniques such as article marketing, blog commenting, forum posting, profile creation, social bookmarking, video marketing and podcast marketing still work?

Well… Yes and No!

They still work to an extend and still are all viable ranking strategies.

But google is evolving and with this evolution comes the new web — It’s web 2.0… And if you don’t get social, you’ll be left behind!

What this means for SEO is basically that if you don’t have anything constructive and interesting to say… you’re not going to all that many links!

Personally I think this will clean up the web from a lot of the “spammy” content, and genuine people with genuine products and services on offer who constructively contribute to online conversations are going to win.

That’s what the change in google for 2011 and beyond means. The web is getting more interactive. We’re going back to Business 101 – Relationship Building.

The money… or rather the links, which still to date is the major ranking factor in all search engines, will be in building relationships and socially interacting in the market place.

Everything in the evolution of Google’s algorithm has been pointing towards this.

The relevancy factor, the unique content factor and now the activity factor.

It has set the way up for instant search results and is making way for the new web.

So for business owners, entrepreneurs and marketers this means that no longer is throwing a few links out there going to be enough to rank. The true players that are going to succeed from this change will be the ones getting back in touch with their market, listening and joining in to their customers conversations and adding value… which is really what true customers service has always been about!

Let us know what you think too and comment below! Enjoy!

Google Is Powering Facebook Fan Page Marketing

I just read an article about Google and how it may be getting too big to manage it’s growth effectively.

A few key players from the Google camp have already been recruited by the face of Facebook – Mark Zuckerberg himself eg. Kate Vale, Lars Rasmussen to name a few.

We all know that Google will still be a key player in search engine marketing for small businesses… I personally don’t think that Facebook is going to take away anything from google there any time soon.

However, Facebook is generating a LOT of traffic!

And as these two companies become more and more competitive, as a small business owner you need to seriously consider tapping into this growing advertising medium called FACEBOOK!

So ask yourself have you got the basics.

Facebook Page
Facebook Fan Page
Facebook PPC

Then ask yourself… have you taken these mediums to the next level and turned them into a profitable marketing system for your business?

If used correctly facebook can give you a very profitable and low cost solution to generating leads, subscribers and customers.

I’m in the middle of working on video presentation how you can utilise facebook fan pages to create a powerful marketing tool.

YES the video will be free, and I’ll make it available very soon.

So stay tuned and I’ll let ya know very soon when I’ll release these videos.

Have a profitable day,

David

Mentor Carlton Hits The Nail On The Head

I just read a very important blog post by a mentor of mine John Carlton.Mentor Carlton Hits The Nail On The Head

He’s delved deep into the subject of street savvy marketing. And you can apply this same savvy to your Internet marketing campaigns and your online business.

The fact that I spend 4 years at Uni learning theories and countless text book examples of how business works didn’t really give me any street savvy knowledge on how to generate money.

It was only when I started to get obsesses with direct response advertising, marketing and mindset that I started to learn that you can generate money anytime you want… when you know how.

The key is this however… and this is where so many people get stuck.

Learn from street savvy entrepreneurs… and I don’t mean “facebook gurus” or the next shiny object people.

Learn from mentors that have a proven track record, that have proven their time in the trenches and know what you’re going through right now.

Names that come to mind are Dan Kennedy, Gary Halbert, John Carlton, Pete Godfrey, Mal Emery!

You won’t find these entrepreneurs publicly masturbating on social media sites like Facebook.

WHY?

Because they’re too busy applying the knowledge they’ve learned over the years to bring in the cash day in day out.

So here’s the main points that Carlton covered in his post, and I thought I would write them up here for you too. Because you can directly apply this to your online campaigns and well… to your general business. Lot of mindset stuff hidden in there…

1) Wake Up: he talks about critical thinking and learning from your mistakes. Be aware of opportunities around you and think how they can impact your business.

2) TAKE ACTION: big one most people forget… but this is really where the money is. Those letters that need to go out, that domain that needs to get registered, that email that needs to be written or links that have to be build in order for your website to show up in the rankings… it all starts with Action!

3) Read: Carlton encourages to keep reading, keep learning and keep sharpening your sword.

4) Apply the new knowledge you learn and fine tune your current promotions to gain maximum return on your investment.

5) Learn from someone that’s been there, and have a mentor look over your shoulder.

*you can access Carlton’s entire blog post here: John Carlton’s Blog Post

These 5 steps, when applied could really be a revolutionary change to your business and your promotions.

If you study any of the big names in marketing… in direct response marketing anyway, you’ll find they religiously practice the sequence mentioned above. To really last and be at the top your your game you have to.
It’s where the pretenders and self acclaimed gurus get set apart from the real players.

Little bit controversial this time…. I know. But I hope you get some gold from this.

Hope this has rattled some cages, agree disagree I don’t really care just let me know what you think below.

Ciao for Now,

Dave

Get Google TRUST = Higher Search Engine Rankings

Get Google TRUST = Higher Search Engine Rankings

If you have a authoritative website it will have a big influence in your search engine rankings. So the big thing you’ve got to is gain TRUST from the search engines!

So how do you do this? We’ll it is not a walk in the part, but a

s with anything else if you do it the right way, you’ll be rewarded. In this case with trust which = higher search engine rankings which = more cash in your bank account Get Google TRUST = Higher Search Engine Rankings

So here’s 5 ways to gain googles trust and increase your search engine rankings

1) Get Authority Links

The biggest thing you want to get is back links from authoritative websites. These are websites which are already very established and in googles eyes have authority in the market. Getting links from these sites will pass on big link juice to your website. But the fact of the matter is that it is… most of the time, near impossible to get back links from these sites.

So… what does this mean? We’ll have to settle for less?

It’s kind of a Yes and No answer… You see, there’s not much chance you’ll get a direct link from these authority websites, however the good news is that if the Trust website 1 links to another website (website 2) and then website 2 links to yours — the trust factor gets passed through. So you’ll still receive some trust.

2) Make your links relevant

Google loves relevancy, so if sites which cover similar topics link to your site, it’s seen in googles eyes as relevant. Because the search engines see your site as a good resource addition to the particular topics these sites cover.

3) Linking To Spam Is Your Death

Don’t link to spam websites… As Internet marketers spammers make our lives very hard. Not only that, they are annoying! Don’t you hate getting spam mail or getting to sites which has absolutely no content?

Well so does google, and as soon as you link to spamming sites, your trust factor will experience a quick downfall.

4) Social Networks Are All The Buzz

Get your sites out there on the social networks and do a little social media marketing. Create backlinks from your facebook, twitter, digg and stumble on account. If people like your links it’s proven to also have a positive effect on the trust factor your website has with the engines.

5) Have Depth In Your Properties.

What I mean by this, is not to just have a one page site. Have pages with relevant content, blog posts, contact pages.

The better resource you provide the more of an authoritative source you will present to the search engines. And search engines love to present websites with good content and lots of unique information in the search engines.

SIDENOTE: The depth of your website is so important that over the remainer of the year I’ll be dedicating the majority of my time developing deep, deep, deep websites which will literally crush the competition — and take local lead generation to a whole new level. Stay tuned to this one, as I report back on the results — It’ll blow you away, when you see this in action.

But back to the topic, as you can see above I presented 5 ways you can gain googles trust and build an authority source in the crowded marketplace, and boost your search engine ranking.

Show us you’re alive by leaving a comment about your website or how you’ve used some of these strategies to gain trust!

It’s Proven Again… Businesses need to optimise their websites for local searches

I’ve been saying it… preaching it… nearly shoving it down peoples throats for the past years!

And now Webvisible and the Nielsen Co. have backed me up again.

Local business CAN NOT neglect internet marketing at a local level!

Here’s the latest research from Webvisible and Nielsen Co:

-63 % of consumers and small business owners turn to the Internet first for information about local companies and…

- 82% use search engines to do so!

So again… probably for the thousandth (is that even a word??) time… people are no longer going to the Yellow Pages to find local products and services.

They are flocking to the Internet. And the beauty is they are adding local indicators to their keywords

Its Proven Again... Businesses need to optimise their websites for local searches

(the words they are typing into the search engines).

That means they are no longer typing in “chiropractor” people are using local indicators such as “chiropractor Brisbane Queensland”. (see example on the right)

And the beauty about these is that these words are not very competitive and you can easily reach page one of google when doing a little bit of focused small business search engine marketing.

On top… search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing have quickly adapted to this trend and are now showing a map of the local results right at the top (even above the number 1 ranking websites) plus the maps of where to locate these businesses.

So what do you need to do?

Well here’s a few tips you can follow to make sure you’re profiting from this ever growing trend… and take advantage of low hanging fruit while their good for the taking.

1) Submit your business to the local listing in google place, yahoo local listings and bing local listing centre.

2) add your business to the top local business directories.

3) entice your best customers to leave positive reviews about your business on these sites to give your business credibitlity.

Lastly and most importantly make your listing a Direct Response Listing — this is pretty advance stuff. But you can actually have a voucher in your listing people can take advantage of and choose you over your competitor.

The first thing your prospects always ask will be “What’s In It For Me…” and this is an easy way to answer this question and get them to choose you over your competitors.

But this is just the start… imagine being able to dominate not just the local listings, but spot #1, #2, #3 or more on the first page of the search engines.

Well what you really need is to do some serious search engine optimisation… and yes this can be a learning costly and long learning curve… but the beauty is there’s lots of Internet marketers out there specialising in this field, who are more than happy to save you from spending 10′s of thousands of dollars with the big SEO firms… and get you mostly even better results.

So if you’re thinking about crushing your competition and dominating the search engines here’s a quick article which will give you 3 tips to hiring the right small business internet marketing consultant.

Let me know what you think about this ever growing trend for small business and any successes you may have already had by cutting in front of line and taking action early before the rest of the small business owners out there are playing catch up.

Is bing a treat to google yet…

we’ve all seen bing slowly making it’s way back as a preferred search engine. But is it ready to take on the big guns?

According to Eric Schmidt (CEO google) Bing is their No.1 competitor right now. He commented that they don’t really see facebook or apple as a competitor. But rather the movement of bing is seen as a threat right now.

Question is now… how many people really use bing, but not only use bing as a search engine… how many people use bing for local searches to find local businesses?

That’s the big questions. I think it’s probably time, that businesses have a strategy to dominate the bing results as well as google.

Only if you’re serious about getting better rankings, more traffic, and higher profits.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The only thing that changes with google instant search is the fact that it’s speeding up real time search and the kind of feedback it gives to users.

So the only thing you’ve got to worry about right now is that your site has a fast loading time, which google has made official a while ago, as being a ranking factors.

So I say just enjoy the fast speed, and extra suggestions when searching…
